A Letter To My Dear Sister ...
My dear sister who is reading this now, it may get hard at times but hold firm to your hijab. Allah Azzawajal has held at such a status in Islam he does not want the lingering eyes of others to see our beauty. My sister anyone could have ill intentions of you, you do not need to prove to anyone that you are beautiful, because Allah has already made you perfect. Shaykh Saleh Al-Fawzaan said in the status of the women in Islam : " Allah, the Glorified and High, has protected the woman and covered her and made her a covered and preserved pearl which is not permissible for any to remove her covering expect her husband who Allah has made permissible for him and made him permissible for her. And He has prohibited the woman displaying her adornments for foreign men as a protection for her and a preservation of her. She is not a lowly object to be handled by the hands and gazed upon the eyes (of the people). Rather, she is a preserved pearl; safeguard for her husband who Allah has made permissible for her and made her permissible for him. This is the woman within Al-Islam" [page 21] As Muslimah's , our role models for the way we dress, act and have haya should be the Mothers of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with them. In a society, where hijab has been stripped to "just a scarf" where many wear tight clothing, perfume, makeup, look to our Mothers, who have always worn the correct hijab. They are our examples of the hijab Allah and his Messenger ﷺ has commanded upon us .
